How the maison works

1905 is a house of limited-edition Art-Déco paintings. Collection works are printed at the highest museum quality — giclée on fine-art cotton — while the 1905 Special Editions are painted entirely by hand. Every piece is framed by hand, numbered and delivered with its own certificate of authenticity. This page shows exactly what happens when you fall in love with one — or commission your own.

01 · The collections

Signed editions, gallery-hung

The catalogue is organised in collections — each one a journey (a coastline, an era, a race). Collection works are printed at the highest museum quality, giclée on fine-art cotton, in strictly limited editions: when the last number is sold, it is never printed again.

A selection of works carries the 1905 Special Edition seal — these are not prints: each one is painted by hand, a single original that is never reproduced.

02 · Authenticity

Every painting, certified

The moment your payment is confirmed, the maison issues your certificate of authenticity: your name, the edition number, the date and the artwork itself, in a printable dossier.

Each certificate carries a QR seal. Scan it with any phone and the maison's registry confirms, live, that the piece on your wall is genuine — forever verifiable, even decades from now.

03 · Bespoke commission

Commission your own painting

Tell the atelier your idea — a place, a memory, a scene — and it is composed in the 1905 house manner, delivered as a museum-grade print on fine-art cotton (not a hand-painted work). You see a preview before paying a cent, and after checkout you refine it until it is exactly right.

04 · The Community collection

Your art can earn

Every confirmed commission joins the public Community collection, where other collectors can buy it. You set its value when you commission it — and from then on, every sale pays you a 20% royalty.

Beyond the catalogue, the maison accepts a limited number of hand-painted commissions each season: your subject — a place, a boat, a memory — painted as an original 1905 canvas, framed by hand and certified as a one-of-one.
